Course Overview:
This course provides a comprehensive overview of the regulatory framework, laws, and rules governing the practice of occupational therapy in the state of Florida. It explores the roles of key regulatory bodies, including the Florida Board of Occupational Therapy, the National Board of Certified Occupational Therapy (NBCOT), and the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). Participants will gain a deep understanding of the Florida Occupational Therapy Practice Act and its provisions, along with the ethical considerations that guide occupational therapy practitioners. Additionally, the course covers recent developments in telehealth services and the disciplinary process for clinicians who violate Florida's laws and rules.
